Today is the day Scandal fans have been waiting for & also dreading….its the season finale of Scandal. I know many of my friends are waiting with much anticipation on how the season will end with Oliva + Fitz but we are also dreading that we won’t have any new episodes to tweet, facebook & text about for a few months! ”Its complete devastation to the nation, quiet as its kept…..”
I wanted to inspire your style senses this morning as you are preparing for a day at the office Olivia Pope style of course!! Today’s style inspiration will take you from the office to a tre chic Scandal watch party with your best girls. Notice the color palette is the same and this was purposely done in the event you are going from the office directly to the party without going home. I love taupe/neutral color pieces and giving them a pop of color or metallic to add flavor. This look the accessories can be interchanged very easily and your shoes for evening can be more casual and comfortable especially after being in heels all day!

2013 Spring Essentials: Spring is my favorite season, the weather is changing, flowers & trees are in bloom and the climate is just perfect! Spring fashion trends are a good way to build your basic pieces that will carry you into summer.
My spring essentials are:
1. Cobalt blue shopper bag its a pop of color that can be paired with so many wardrobe pieces, including neutrals and other colors.
2. Oversized sunglasses. I love sunnies, and in my opinion (for me) the bigger the better!!
*Style tip* when trying on new sunglasses in the store, be sure to do a “Smile Check” to see how they look when you smile. This is important in the overall look, fit & placement on your face.
3. Maxi dresses - great when worn alone but they can also be dressed up with a blazer or dressed down with the denim jacket/vest. They are perfect for warm days and offer enough coverage for those cool nights out on the town.
4. Neon nail polish - Nothing says “Hello Spring” like a neon manicure or pedicure.
*Beauty Tip - use a white nail polish as your base coat and it will make your nail colors pop* This is where I recommend pairing a lower priced white polish with a higher quality color nail polish.
5. Swarovski Pop Silver Stud earrings - simple stud with lots of sparkle.
6. Nude wedge sandles - I love a nude honey! They are great with so many pieces that you currently have in your closet. Think of nude as a basic shoe that every women should own.

Who doesn’t love a Target Style Launch for their in-store designer collection? Today the new Kate Young for Target Collection hit stores and its a fabulous dahhling. There are looks that are perfect for “After 5 or a semi formal summer soiree” & also great separates that can be rocked in a variety of ways!
Who is Kate Young? She was recently named the 4th most powerful Celebrity Stylist & these designs are fabulous. I must admit that we look to Target for being the affordable spot for fashionable pieces and these are a bit on the pricey side however if you are looking for a great summer dress for a special occasion you may have hit the jackpot!!!

I believe that beauty secrets should be shared amongst friends so today I am sharing one of my all time favorite secrets that really has so many purposes.
Organic Virgin Coconut oil is not just for moisturizing your skin, its packed with vitamins D, E, and K and it will truly change your life, like for real. I purchase mine from Trader Joes and its sold in a solid form but will turn to liquid in temperatures above 70 degrees. Most often I use it in my hair & also on my face/body, however I want to share a few other ways to use this gem of a product.
- Teeth Whiter - when mixed with baking soda
- Scalp conditioner - it soothes itchy an scalp and also promotes hair growth.
- Nutritional value- I use it in my morning green smoothies from time to time. Its rich in vitamins as mentioned above.
- Body Scrub - mix equal parts of OVCO + sugar in a separate container and keep it in your shower, its great for exfoliating your skin.
- Lip balm - a little dab will do the trick!
- Hair Deep conditioner - a thick coat of OVCO in the hair and let it sit for a couple of hours or you can speed the process up and sit under a hooded hair dryer. It works ahh-mazing for damaged hair.
- Eye makeup remover - place a small about on a cotton square it it removes eye shadow & mascara.
- Cuticle Cream - perfect for those at home mani & pedi’s if you are in between manicurist visits.
- Massage Oil - OVCO is easily warmed by the hands and leaves the soft tropical scent as well as silky smooth skin!
