Tailored Thursday: Ballin’ on a budget…..
Are you a business professional woman but you know your budget is a little tight? Wal-Mart yes I said Wal-Mart (*rant* :: Can you believe I am promoting a Wal-Mart product as a former Targét Store Executive?) Well yes I am only this one time!

{Tuesday Style Tip} Maternity style; I must confess that this style tip has been brought to you by all the of paparazzi pictures that I have been seeing lately of Kim Kardashian (Kimye).

I will put this disclaimer out first, I’ve never been pregnant however I am keenly aware of what looks good on my body type even when I am in a in between status with my weight.

Ohhh Kim Kim Kim, it’s time to ditch the couture pieces and head straight for MiMi Maternity or a couture maternity boutique. When women including celebrities who are “with child” buy larger clothes or attempt to fit into their old wardrobe it only makes them look that much larger.  It’s also very common for women to sometimes carry the bulk of their pregnancy weight in their breast, hips and/or thighs.  In looking at the recent pictures, I definitely think this will be the case for Ms. Kardashian.

I have a few Maternity style tips and hopefully Kimye’s stylist will encourage her to change her wardrobe to compliment her expanding baby bump….

1. Stick with basics such as maternity tanks, leggings, dark denim slacks, maternity slacks, maternity pencil skirts (although this could be iffy with some women depending on their body type). These key pieces can be buildable for the entire 9 months & are nice when paired with blazers, blouses, etc.

2. Dresses are awesome: especially jersey knits.

3. Build your “Empire” - the Emprie waist dress is very flattering on pregnant women. It’s a dress that gathers just under the breast & falls loosely over the rest of the body.

4. Accessorize - Yes!! cool bracelets/cuffs, scarves, necklaces & handbags, will cause the eye to focus on your trendy accessories any not so much on your growing baby bump.

Men’s Style Monday:  If you are going to wear a layered look, its best with 2 or 3 thinner layers of clothing.  Also keep in mind to include 1-2 classy clothing pieces such as a vest or tailored vest with a dress shirt. 

Men’s #Style Monday: Layering is a great way to show your sense of style. This look is perfect for a Saturday afternoon out with the fellas to watch the game (minus the scarf) followed by drinks at a casual lounge (add the scarf) Paired with wide leg or bootcut jeans & you are sure to turn heads!
